Your Role
The Deployment Planner utilises the SAP (R3 & APO) planning system along with other tools to ensure the cost-effective movement of saleable products from source plants (international and domestic) to interstate DC’s in a timely manner in order to meet forecast sales requirements and targeted service levels. There are three deployment planners supported by one deployment analyst servicing the one domestic and 6-12 international source locations and six end DC’s within the Australian / New Zealand network.
The Deployment Planner plays a key role in the cost-efficient supply of stock to meet sales demands. The incumbent must interact at many levels of the organisation from distribution staff & 3rd party suppliers to National Sales Managers. Attention to detail, a sound understanding of MRP & ERP principles and the ability to manage multiple priorities are critical to success.
Further Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Maintain key data and parameters for planning purposes in R3 & APO, transport lead times, capacities and other parameters

Check and maintain inventory target levels. Obtain and monitor finished product warehouse maximum capacity limits

Provide guidance and insight to Supply planners with respect to managing the effective and efficient flow of product into DC locations

Develop short term deployment plans and initiate execution.

Utilise system alerts & monitor very near-term fluctuations in inventory level vs. target

Manage and mitigate DC capacity constraints by influencing and identifying strategies with source locations

Analyse system alerts and communicate supply issues to Divisional Sales / Customer Managers, Category Management and Vendor Replenishment planners through the maintenance of stock overview reports on the portal

Coordinate truck load & timeslot planning with external carriers & KCA DC’s

Coordinate the outbound shipments and update relevant data and communication channels to ensure accurate outbound schedule and data is maintained

Coordinate the deployment of Intercompany Exports from source, including the generating and updating of inventory reports, creating intercompany purchase orders and updating the container schedule, ensuring shipping partners can execute on time in full.

Support the Production Analyst as required in the following areas:

maintenance of the allocation system for products in short supply

product substitution during changeovers between promotional & standard sales variants

Maintenance of SAP material master data during product rollovers

Liaise with the Demand & Supply Planners, Vendor Replenishment planners & State Sales Managers to coordinate deployment plans during periods of short and excessive supply
About You:
-
At least 2 years Planning or other logistics experience in a global FMCG company

SAP R3 experience
-
Attention to detail and excellent numeracy and analytical
-
Knowledge of SAP APO planning processes desirable
