The Trade Promotions and Mix Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of trade promotion and product / customer mix optimisation (RGM Levers 3 & 4). As a result, a successful candidate will exemplify strong trade commercial understanding, keen understanding of TPM systems and ability to drive collaboration amongst the cross-functional teams.
The role will be responsible for: navigating the broader commercial team on the SAP TPM platform, integrity of the input and maintenance of the business roll-up, consistent refresh of the business plan, ownership of the monthly promotional workshops, support in key analyses and promo/mix strategy development.

In this role, you will:

Provide consultancy to the Customer and Commercial Strategy team on how best to improve ROI through their initiatives

Develop and own input into SAP TPM of the total sales promotional annual calendar

Own and maintain the total platform for the SA commercial team - managing all data elements from financial to sales info accurately

Output analytics: Support the team in Pre and Post promo evaluations, with the intention of changing promotional levers where required to maximise ROI. Increasing the visibility of Mix in reporting and instigating plans against this

Define medium to long term promotional plans based on key learnings and "proof" via promotional forecasting

Inform Sales & Operating process for more robust volume forecasts through insights generation and volume / price understanding

Support the Customer / Channel / Brand specific monthly reviews on Mix / ROI and YTG plans

Provide monthly executive reporting and insights on key areas of performance and YTG opportunities / risks

Serve as a conduit to the local and regional technical teams for the SAP TPM platform

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
JOB REQUIREMENTS

A relevant bachelor’s degree within the Commercial discipline
-
A minimum of 2 – 3 years relevant experience (sales / marketing / category)
-
High level of numeracy and trade commercial analytics
-
Advanced MS excel skills (power pivot, etc.) Experience with SAP TPM or similar trade promotion platforms would be advantageous
-
Proven ability to lead workshops, training and cross functional projects
-
Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task / prioritise broad requests
-
Solid understanding of the FMCG P&L with a focus on Gross-to-Net components
-
Understanding of how to leverage various promo mechanics, trading terms and retail advertising; and its impact on the P&L
-
Experience in promo evaluation. Understanding of KC & Retailer financial KPIs. ROI & customer profitability

Experience in S&OP cycle as an advantage. Understanding of relations between various departments
